September 28, 2007 -- Las Vegas, Nevada – Graphic Imaging Service, Inc. (GISI), a Nevada company, has completed the on-site scanning of 10,000 engineering drawings for the City of Fountain Valley, California. The fast-track scanning and indexing project was completed at the City’s offices in just under three months. “It’s the fastest we’ve ever done that quantity of drawings,” says Lisa Desautels, President of GISI. The digitized documents were archived to USB drives for easy access and to free up usable office space. “It was more than a storage issue,” stated Project Manager for the City of Fountain Valley, Temo Galvez, “we accomplished several goals, the benefits of which will be seen long term, including preservation of valuable information, streamlined retrieval by city employees, and ultimately improved community service when public City data can be accessed from home computers.”
The City of Fountain Valley was incorporated in 1957 as Orange County, California’s 21st City, and has established itself both locally and nationally as a forward-looking community, dedicated to improving the quality of life for its citizens.
