November 30, 2007 -- By January 1st 2008 all Local Governments must be able to handle address information in the new Data Transfer Format 7.3 version. Intelligent Addressing, the organisation responsible for the collation and management of all Local Land and Property gazetteer information will provide an export service in the older 6.3 version, alongside the new 7.3 format but for only a limited period. So in addition to being fined by the Improvement and Development Agency (I&DeA), local governments could very quickly find themselves unable to export or receive vital updates.
Symphony software, supplied by Aligned Assets, has long be regarded as a leading software used in the management of local government address data and it comes as no surprise to existing users that Symphony can export data in both the 6.3 and the newer 7.3 formats. Using Symphony software, local councils will be able to meet the New Year’s deadline and ensure that there is no interruption in the process of managing vital address information.
