Pictometry Announces Dr. Robert W. Loss Jr. Scholarship for area college student studying in fields related to geospatial technologies

ROCHESTER, NY – July 24, 2008 – Pictometry International Corp., a leading provider of georeferenced aerial image libraries whose proprietary technology is used globally to capture oblique image libraries, announced today that it is offering a new scholarship opportunity to a Rochester, NY-area college student studying in the field of geographic information systems and related subject areas. In memory of Dr. Robert W. Loss, Jr., a Pictometry Board member and a strong advocate of lifelong education, Pictometry will be providing one prepaid registration for its Pictometry FutureView 2008 User Conference taking place in San Antonio, TX from October 27 – 29, 2008. Airfare, accommodations and meals will be provided to the selected recipient.

As a guest attendee to FutureView 2008, the selected candidate will meet geospatial experts and engineers who help shape new Pictometry technologies as well as special guest speaker for the event, Don Cooke -- chief scientist for Tele Atlas. The selected scholarship recipient will also have a multitude of opportunities to interact with Pictometry users from around the country who represent nearly every field related to geospatial data and systems.

In keeping with Dr. Loss' belief in the value of education, Pictometry is inviting area professors, mentors and professional associates of local college students to submit applications for this scholarship. The selected candidate is required to be studying in the field of geographic information systems or a related area. Extracurricular involvement and work/internship experience in these areas will also determine candidate selection. Finally, the selected candidate must be outgoing and able to communicate with and learn from their professional peers while at FutureView.
