A key focus will be continuing to develop the Maponics reseller network, a group recently broadened to include MapInfo, Infusion and AWhere.
Friend joined Maponics in early 2008, bringing with him 15 years of technical sales, sales management and business development experience. This includes a substantial background in geospatial technologies from his time as director of sales and business development at Tactician and director of strategic sales at Vicinity.

Steve has masterfully overseen a vast expansion of our product line and internal infrastructure. I'm extremely confident in their ability to continue aggressive build-out of our infrastructure and to serve our spatial data customers well, especially as we expand internationally."
