DMTI Spatial Cuts Through the Clutter for Radio Frequency Propagation

MARKHAM, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Aug 31, 2009 -- DMTI Spatial (DMTI), Canada's leading provider of Location Intelligence solutions, announces the availability of a 17 class Clutter offering designed to address customer specific areas of interest across Canada. Built primarily for Telecommunications, Utilities and National Security customers, this data set is generated using the latest satellite imagery ensuring it is the most relevant, rich and reliable content available.

Clutter data is a representation of man-made and natural features, such as buildings and vegetation, that may impair radio frequency transmission waves. Clutter data assists engineers working in the telecommunications sector with predicting areas of wireless service transmission signal loss. By modelling these effects, companies can boost their service offering by reducing the number of dropped calls, improve customer service and satisfaction, and enhance their overall ROI.

"The new clutter offering can be utilized to help optimize transmission site locations, reduce infrastructure costs and improve ROI for our customers," explained Robert Szyngiel, Senior Manager, Content & Product Management, DMTI. "We are providing radio frequency engineers with the most rich, robust and reliable content available to perform effective infrastructure planning in a cost effective manner."

DMTI also provides additional synchronized datasets such as vector layers (roads, building footprints) and demographics to support further analytics. The Clutter offering is available in 10 or 17 classes and is offered as a premium addition to the Telecommunications Management Location Content Cartridge (LCC).
