Infotech Awarded GIS Base Map Development Project
Sterling, VA, November 2009 – Infotech Enterprises America, Inc. (Infotech) is pleased to announce an award through Chicopee Electric Light (CEL) to provide GIS base map development services for the City of Chicopee (City), MA. As an important part of the City’s growth plans, CEL is upgrading their Geographic Information System (GIS). This project covers an area encompassing the entire City of Chicopee. Infotech was selected through a competitive bid process based on a review of experience, methodology, capacity, and price.
To support CEL’s needs, Infotech is delivering an up-to-date GIS that will be used to support CEL’s application areas such as design, planning, operations, and accounting. The GIS will be populated with highly accurate spatial data and topographic mapping. Infotech will provide 40-scale digital planimetric mapping and digital topographic mapping for 1 foot contour intervals, ground control, and fully analytical aerial triangulation services to successfully complete this project. In order for CEL to use this data for their other projects, Infotech has set forth an aggressive schedule completing this project in a 16 week timeframe.
