Software of the Turkish engineers are being implemented not only in Turkey, but also all around the world. Iran is the one of the “software exported” countries in the neighbors of Turkey.
June 08, 2011 -- The Turkish software company Netcad’s Geographic Information Systems and engineering solutions are being implemented with success in Iran’s agriculture sector. Within this context; 140 thousands parcels of agricultural lands are getting evaluated and enrolled into the geo-database. Successive implementation brings out new inquiries.
Rapidly shrinking agricultural lands, decaying of the water and natural resources, and natural disasters are forcing the countries to use the agricultural resources efficiently in the world. Using the information and communication technologies seems to be the most important solution to use the resources efficiently.
Using and managing the agricultural recourses is also important for the Turkey’s neighbor country Iran as the rest of the world. Netcad – Ulusal CAD & GIS Solutions and Netcad’s Authorized Official Solution Partner in Iran; Parsineh Tarhe Atieh (PTA) are working together on the geographic information system solution for the agricultural resources of the Iran’s Golestan state.
The widest green state of Iran
The chairman of the board of PTA, Mr. Ezzatollah Mohammadi says Golestan is one of the states of North West of Iran which covers most of the green area and is the most valuable and strategic state in terms of the arable lands.
Mohammadi said, “The Iranian state supports all kinds of innovative approaches, related to the agriculture sector, that use any new technology and differs from the traditional agriculture. The State Directorate of Jihad Agriculture at the Gorgan, the capital city of Golestan state, is one of the areas where such innovative approaches are being implemented. In this sense, studies about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) solutions are coming forward on land and agriculture management subjects to use the resources efficiently and to monitor the production.”
Mohammadi expresses that, after the technical analyses and identification of needs, a decision mechanism about the solutions was formed within the organization of the State Directorate of Jihad Agriculture. He added that they reached a consensus on fulfilling the needs from one source by the holistic approach of Netcad GIS and engineering solutions.
Evaluating 140 thousands of parcels
Mohammadi said; works on thousands of new parcels continues within the scope of these solutions and added “By now Netcad and PTA have internally released the agricultural inventory data structure of Golestan state and made it available to the organization and country’s service by their web based Geographic Information Systems agriculture resource solution. In this project, 140 thousands of parcels are being evaluated, compiled in GIS environment and enrolled into the database. To follow up the farmers in territory, at the end of the analyses, a solution was released which can provide not only the graphical query and analysis but also the queries and analyses of any attribute information related to resource distribution in a wide range from farmer names to citizenship IDs, living places to agriculture places, gardens to fish farms, and cattle to poultry activities.”
Mohammadi also said; in the scope of the project Netcad will also do a harvest estimation work for the strategic products like wheat, rice and barley with Netcad Remote Sensing solution. The success of the Iran Jihad Agriculture Web GIS project also attracts the attention of the neighboring provinces and new inquiries are in front.
Netcad International Sales Manager Mr. Musa Semerci stated his opinions: “We are moving our 22 years of experience which we gained in Turkey from the public, private sector and universities to the overseas. With qualified relations, we have signed distribution contracts with local business partners in 3 continents, 15 countries within a short period like 3 years. In this scope we are working also in Iran for large-scaled projects. With the advantage of this succeeded agriculture project, we aim to realize these large-scaled projects.”
