You can create 3D urban landscapes with Esri CityEngine using your organization's existing geographic information system (GIS) data. You also can use the software to do conceptual geodesign work.
To help you become familiar with this technology, Esri will host the live training seminar Creating Smart 3D City Models with Esri CityEngine on June 27, 2013.
With CityEngine, you can sketch scenarios and then bring them into Esri ArcGIS for analysis or export them to high-end simulation engines or web clients.
After viewing this seminar, you will understand how to do the following:
- Transform 2D GIS data into smart 3D city models using procedural rules
- Design and model an urban redevelopment proposal, from the zoning plans to the building details
- Share your 3D models online via the CityEngine Web Scene Viewer
This live training seminar will be helpful to professionals who work in urban planning, architecture, engineering, construction, real estate development, and local government. A background in design and planning will help you better understand some of the information that will be covered.
You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
