June 28, 2016 -- 50 cm greyscale WorldView ortho photo and 1m posted DEM over an oilfield in the Texas Permian Basin. 1m contours. This is a “DTM Ready” product. See the PhotoSat website for details.
GIS professionals can use the PhotoSat online WorldView DEM processing system to create 2 km by 2 km 1m posted DEMs and 50 cm greyscale ortho photos anywhere in the world. The online processing system uses the DigitalGlobe GBDX platform to access the entire WorldView satellite data archive.
The expected relative accuracy of the DEM and ortho photos is better than 1 m. Most of the products tested to date have relative accuracies of better than 50 cm. The expected global accuracy is 3 m. ArcGIS workflows are provided to adjust to ground surveys. Adjustment to ground survey control will provide global accuracy of better than 1m.
“For years customers have been asking us for DEMs and ortho photos for small projects quickly and at reasonable cost. We have been unable to accommodate these customers because of the time and cost of custom stereo satellite DEM processing. With the DigitalGlobe GBDX platform we are finally able to provide products that will work for these smaller projects” says PhotoSat President Gerry Mitchell.
The regular price for the 1 m DEM and 50 cm greyscale ortho photo for a 2 km by 2 km area anywhere in the world is $US 800.
Early Access customers will be pre-qualified by PhotoSat. The Early Access price is $US 500.
See examples at our booth 541 at the ESRI conference in San Diego, June 28 to 30. The PhotoSat booth is right beside the large Trimble booth at the south end of the exhibit floor.
