November 1, 2005 -- Applied Imagery has released a new version of its powerful LiDAR and SAR visualization and analysis software. The QT Modeler Version 5.0 continues to narrow the gap between LiDAR and GIS by supporting the import, export, and overlay of ESRI shape files. In addition, the QT Modeler has added productivity tools such as interactive DEM editing for manual feature removal, tile maps for more intuitive understanding of multi-tile surveys, batch processing for enormous multi-data set modeling jobs, contour line consolidation for more rapid export to CAD and GIS, and a redesigned user interface. Applied Imagery has also enhanced the analytical capabilities of the QT Modeler by adding user-defined filters for change detection and slope analysis, a flood volume calculation tool, and a marker import tool.
Applied Imagery is a Silver Spring, Maryland geospatial software company focused on 3-D tools for LiDAR and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) terrain analysis. Applied Imagery’s software was originally developed at the Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Lab (APL). More information can be obtained at
