InterSpec Awarded a Patent for a Key Element of its e-SPECS Software

PORTLAND, Maine, January 12, 2006 - InterSpec, Inc. (“InterSpec”) the leading provider of Internet-based construction specification management services and software, announced today it has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a key element of its e-SPECS® software. The company's flagship product e-SPECS automates the specification process by extracting the product and material requirements directly from the project drawings or BIM model. e-SPECS integrates directly with Autodesk Architectural Desktop®, AutoCAD® and Revit® Building, and supports all versions of MASTERSPEC®. For architects and engineers who spend many hours on every project preparing construction specifications, e-SPECS saves them time and money while ensuring that the construction drawings agree with the specifications.

Gilles Letourneau, CTO and co-founder of InterSpec states, "For years we Architects have been screaming for advances in specification management tools, especially those that dynamically link to the CAD files or Building Information Models. Finally, e-SPECS delivers this capability and with the e-SPECS product architecture and information available we've opened the door to additional valuable product add-ons."
