Adenium Systems enables users to submit high resolution interactive documents to DFS using the Autodesk DWF platform.
Orlando, FL – (May 10, 2006) Adenium Systems, an industry leading document management software company, today announced that users of their more than 25,000 DFS projects will now be able to use the Autodesk DWF file platform to share and send high resolution CAD files throughout the workflow and to the printer. This will enable DFS users to more quickly and simply share and print complex CAD designs using the free Autodesk DWF Viewer. This latest development provides thousands of Adenium document management users with the latest technology available. With millions of documents available through Adenium and ReproMAX DFS portals all over the world, the Autodesk DWF platform facilitates and speeds up the evaluation, bidding, and construction phases of a project.
The reprographics industry has evolved from a “print and distribute” model to a model where professionals electronically distribute documents so end users can print only the desired documents. The effect has been that reprographers are now aware that their clients need something more than just the lowest cost-per-square-foot of printing. ReproMAX members are using ReproMAX DFS to build business relationships based on providing document management services and solutions with their clients and not just on printed goods.
“The DWF Viewer from Autodesk provides such an increase in functionality with electronic drawings that it made perfect sense for Adenium to adopt this platform and encourage our users to do the same,” said Doug Bower, president of Adenium Systems. “The construction industry is seeing a significant increase in the number of projects and documents available online, the capabilities of the DWF Viewer help to provide even more reasons for this rapid adoption to continue.” said Bower.
Adenium Systems uses the Autodesk DWF platform to enable CAD users to submit high resolution interactive documents to DFS without complicated training. These DWF files can then be viewed by non-CAD users (contractors, estimators, project managers and other project team members) to review the documents with the free Autodesk DWF Viewer. The Autodesk DWF Viewer enables all project team members to benefit from the enhanced features like layer control without CAD expertise or needing AutoCAD or other CAD creation software installed on their computer.
“We share a common vision with Adenium Systems in that we both want to enable users to realize their ideas in the best and most efficient way possible. By standardizing on Autodesk’s open-source DWF platform, Adenium has enabled DFS customers to improve their workflow and increase productivity,” said Jonathan Knowles, director of worldwide market development with Autodesk. “Autodesk believes in this partnership because it streamlines processes, while maintaining all the data integrity of the original design
documents.” said Knowles.
With DFS, all documents—including multiple versions of a single document—are stored in the DFS Vault. This provides full version control of all documents and ensures that project team members access the most current document available. When a project is complete, DFS contains a complete history of all related documentation. This information can remain in the DFS system for easy access, or be archived to an external drive using DFS’s Electronic Project Closeout.
In addition to viewing documents from DFS with the DWF Viewer, DFS features an automated Notification System that allows general contractors to contact their bidder list when bid packages or new documents are available. Bidders automatically receive access to a secure, online plan room where they can view, order or print the documents they need.
DWF is the foundation for digital design workflows. It enables designers to share accurate, data-rich design information with project teams at any point in the project lifecycle – at a fraction of the original size. By using DWF, organizations are able to efficiently and securely share 2D and 3D designs while minimizing errors, costs, and information loss through the process. More information is available at
