RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO, CANADA - August 14, 2006 - Orion Technology Inc. today announced that Rif Jiwani has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer effective October 16, 2006. He will succeed his elder brother, Zul Jiwani, who has decided to spend more time on his Voluntary Humanitarian Assistance Activities. The company announced that Zul will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board and as advisor on key projects. Zul has served as the Company's President and CEO since the founding of the Company in 1998.

Rif is a 25-year veteran of Strategic and Operational Planning, Business Development and Corporate Governance. "Under Zul's leadership over the past eight years, Orion has achieved national and international stature as a leader in providing Web-GIS Solutions and Enterprise GIS (Geographic Information Systems) implementations," commented Shafik Jiwani. "Zul has dedicated the past eight years to building a leading company with talented employees and a number of excellent products, including OnPoint, which is a winner of several awards and is enjoying a solid reputation world-wide."

"After eight years of vibrancy, Orion is poised to expand the list of business domains it serves (local government, utilities, telecommunications, elections, economic development, land administration etc.) and we are excited to find the right CEO who will help us grow our business to serve our expanding market in new business domains," said Zul Jiwani. "Our business and technical leadership has never been stronger, and under Rif's leadership, Orion is well-positioned for success in the years ahead. I am happy that Rif has agreed to join us and I feel very fortunate to have partners like Shafik and Satinath at the company," Zul continued. "I remain committed at Orion and will be working side by side with Rif, Shafik and Satinath for a minimum of 6 months per year until a smooth transition is completed."

"I consider myself very fortunate," Zul added. "I'm lucky to have been able to use my passion for GIS for business as well as for giving back to society by volunteering and using GIS for disaster management and humanitarian assistance.
