Tele Atlas Appoints David Sym-Smith as Chief Marketing Officer

September 5, 2006, Boston, MA – Tele Atlas, a leading global geographic content provider, today announced the appointment of David Sym-Smith as Chief Marketing Officer. Sym-Smyth will be a member of the company’s executive team and will oversee all aspects of global marketing, product management and communications. He will report to President and Chief Operating Officer George Fink.

Prior to joining Tele Atlas, Sym-Smyth served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at mobile device management leader Innopath Software, where he developed the company’s strategic roadmap and helped significantly increase its market share to become the dominant provider. Sym-Smyth also has held senior positions at Aerial Communications (now T-Mobile USA), CellularOne (now AT&T Wireless), Command Audio, GTE MobileNet (now Verizon Wireless) and Sprint Spectrum (now Sprint) and has worked as an international consultant creating successful content delivery, distribution and marketing strategies for companies including Telephia and Voice Web.

Sym-Smyth graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Economics and International Business and holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Pennsylvania State University. He is based at the company’s global crossroads office in Boston.
