Motion Compensation enables the connectivity of selected position and orientation systems to ILRIS-3D. As a result, ILRIS-3D can now output accurate, georeferenced data from dynamic platforms such as boats and many other mobile vehicles. “This option will allow our users to collect data from moving platforms, increasing efficiency and addressing applications that were impossible before. Imagine sailing along the coast and scanning the shoreline, for example,” says Brent Gelhar, Director of Lidar Technologies at Optech. “Motion Compensation will greatly benefit the lidar industry and open many new opportunities for growth and expansion. Our scientists continue to push the technology envelope to help our Optech owners and operators maximize their return on investment.”
