SEATTLE, November 28, 2006: Dexter + Chaney, Seattle-based developer of Forefront(TM) Construction Suite, has been named for the third straight year to the “Software 500,” Software Magazine’s ranking of the world’s largest software and services providers. Dexter + Chaney placed 358th on the list, with 2005 revenues of $13.6 million in software and services. The company climbed 40 places over its #398 ranking a year earlier.
The ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2005. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware.
The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents. IBM and Microsoft ranked first and second, respectively.
The Software 500 is the latest in a series of rankings that have included Dexter + Chaney for its size. The company placed 37th in Washington CEO magazine’s recently published “High Tech 50” listing of the top 50 high-tech firms in the state of Washington, with 70 Washington-based employees. It was #19 in the Puget Sound Business Journal’s listing of the Puget Sound area’s largest software developers, according to 2005 revenues.
“We take a tremendous amount of pride in making software, business and trade rankings like the Software 500,” said John Chaney, company president who co-founded the firm with Mark Dexter in 1981. “It means that Forefront and Dexter + Chaney personnel are helping our construction-company customers throughout the United States manage and grow their businesses effectively. Our success goes hand-in-hand with theirs.”
