SAFER Systems Releases TRACE™ Version 9.1

CAMARILLO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Mar 19, 2007 -- SAFER Systems, the recognized global leader in integrated software for chemical emergency response solutions, unveiled its new SAFER TRACE™ software Version 9.1 on March 1.

This significant upgrade to SAFER TRACE™ Version 9.0 adds new modeling capabilities and tools for use in providing consequence analysis for a toxic chemical release. Some of the new features and enhancements include an addition of a tank-top fire model to the suite of thermal radiation algorithms, modeling safety and pressure relief valves on storage tanks, simplifying the input requirements to a vessel burst/BLEVE model, and taking into account the dilution due to a multi-component evaporative pool. Also built in to Version 9.1 are a new flame drag correlation for a circular pool fire, perpendicular alignment of a trench pool fire's major axis to the wind direction, an internal decision between running the jet or stack model based on the user's input, improving the indoor dosage estimation, putting Antoine equation constants in the proper format, and improving the chemical mixture set-up program.

SAFER TRACE™ users will notice considerable report output enhancements, as well as resized TRACE™ windows and dialogs to fit newer 1028*768 resolution monitors. The GIS Admin Tool displays an overhauled user interface for greater ease of use, and the capturing capability of the GIS map is enhanced greatly. The licensing module now uses the latest license scheme, eliminating the need to type license codes. Adding to the growing number of language versions, the application now supports the Japanese language.

Shah Khajehnajafi, Vice President and R&D manager, says, "In this version we took TRACE™ to a new height; it is a more mature software that addresses many of the users' needs."
