Columbia, MD—Nemetschek North America (NA) today announced the release of its Service Pack 1 for VectorWorks 2008. This update takes advantage of developments Nemetschek NA recently put in place to provide maintenance releases to its user base in an efficient, uncomplicated, and timely manner.
“We know how important it is for our users to trust that their productivity is an important priority for Nemetschek,” says Paul Pharr, Chief Technology Officer, “especially during times of transition to major new software releases.”
VectorWorks 2008 is a new version, released on September 13, 2007. The eagerly-awaited upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements developed with the direct input of VectorWorks users. VectorWorks 2008 offers new technology to optimize workflows, enrich presentations, and facilitate collaboration. The 2008 upgrade affects the entire VectorWorks line of award-winning, precision-design software: Designer, Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Machine Design, Fundamentals, and RenderWorks.
This Service Pack update addresses problems which have affected the initial users of VectorWorks 2008. With the help of user input, Nemetschek identified and resolved a number of memory leaks, gradual slowdowns, and stability problems in the application affecting complex or extended editing sessions. Service Pack 1 also fixes problems with design layer viewports and 3D wall editing, as well as some central problems with object reshape, joining, and snapping. Finally, interactions between some printing options and user hardware/software configurations have been fixed.
The Service Pack is available as a downloadable updater, as well as an online update, which is applied automatically when installing from our VectorWorks 2008 DVDs. Service Pack 1 can be accessed at
