Agrian Expands National Presence With Agriculture's Largest Crop Advisor Certification Program

FRESNO, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—February 19, 2008— Agrian, the only fully integrated agridata tracking solution, announced today that it has reached an exclusive, multi-year agreement delivering the entire suite of Agrian products to the country's largest organization of professional crop advisors and agronomists. The agreement with the American Society of Agronomy enables Agrian to expand its integrated, field-to-fork solution nationally with a certified group of trained professionals in production agriculture. The Society's CCA and CPAg Programs boasts more than 13,000 Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs) and Certified Professional Agronomists (CPAgs) throughout the US and Canada.

"This agreement with the American Society of Agronomy's CCA and CPAg Programs pushes the Agrian field-to-fork network coast-to-coast," says Nishan Majarian, CEO of Agrian Inc. "More importantly, we are expanding nationally with a certified group of trained professionals in production agriculture. This new partnership between Agrian and the ASA's CCA and CPAg programs serves the very best in agriculture. We are pleased to provide these agriculture professionals with tools that will improve their business while helping to relieve the growing demand for agridata."

Agrian offers the only agridata tracking system that is comprehensive, easy to use, and Web-based. In response to the growing demand for food data at every level, the company offers the most integrated solution, and one which serves every player in the food supply chain, including growers, crop advisors, applicators, and food processors. Agrian is one of only two companies with a manufacturer-approved agricultural chemical label database, and is the only company that does not charge manufacturers to be part of the program. The Web-based Agrian system is accessible anywhere, and is free for field-level users.

"This is the first time our program has entered into an agreement of this type, which certainly indicates how strongly we believe in Agrian and the technology behind its solutions," said Luther Smith, director of certification programs for the American Society of Agronomy. "Our registrants benefit from a comprehensive, internet-based system that is available at no cost to them, and Agrian's privacy policies surrounding the release of data align directly with our own."

The ASA agreement, which is effective immediately, expands Agrian's field-to-fork network by providing the company's flagship products, including product label search, recommendation writing tool, and GIS mapping and reporting tools, to the more than 13,000 CCAs and CPAgs and their grower customers throughout the United States and Canada, and exclusively to all CCAs and CPAgs east of the Rocky Mountains. The Agrian tools can improve the ability of crop advisors to write a recommendation checked against an extensive manufacturer database of products, and provides the advisors and their growers with the ability to keep an extensive database of field level records at no cost. Data from the Agrian system is protected by a stringent privacy policy, assuring no uniquely identifiable data is released from the system without the express consent of the crop advisor.
