Rich map content and 3D features enhance users’ navigation experience

Hannover, Germany, CeBIT, March 4, 2008 – Tele Atlas (FSE: TA6, EUNV: TA), a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, today announced that ASUSTek Computer Inc. (ASUS), Taiwan-based producer of high quality handhelds, will launch its new navigation solutions for personal navigation devices, GPS phones and portable PCs based on Tele Atlas digital maps.

The new ASUS personal navigation devices and GPS-enabled smartphones will feature Tele Atlas digital maps for Europe; with additional devices planned to feature Tele Atlas maps and content for Greater China and the United States. The launch of these new devices marks the first ASUS navigation offerings leveraging Tele Atlas maps delivered to the end user from the ASUS brand that are developed and manufactured solely by the company.

ASUS devices, including the new R700 portable navigation device, also will feature Tele Atlas(R) 3D Landmarks that portray many famous landmarks throughout Europe in 3D Map coverage, more than two million points of interest (POIs), and Tele Atlas(R) Brand Icons – which visually represent POIs of participating businesses as instantly recognizable logos to help mobile consumers accurately identify specific brands of interest. Together, these content and enhanced visual offerings will help enable ASUS device users to recognize their location, find places of interest faster and relate the display more easily to the world around them.

“We are excited with the launch of these new products, as they enhance our customers’ personal and mobile navigation experiences with powerful visual enhancements, and rich, useful content on a global scale,” said Marvin Hsu, associate vice president of ASUS. “With the strength of our new devices and the industry expertise and marketing support of Tele Atlas, we look forward to a strong partnership together.”

“Increasingly, consumers seek a navigation experience – both via personal navigation and mobile devices – that offer innovative capabilities and deliver a personalized offering,” said Mark Steele, chief operating officer of Tele Atlas Asia Pacific. “We are pleased to work with ASUS as a key Asia-Pacific partner to help expand their global reach with leading-edge wireless and personal navigation solutions for Europe, and soon in Greater China and the United States.”
