Middlesex Water intends to implement the "Oracle for Utilities" suite of applications across a broad range of business processes. This integrated, robust technology platform will consist of Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Work and Asset Management, Mobile Workforce Management, GIS Integration and Oracle Database. The applications will be implemented in various concurrent timeframes over the next 18 months.
Middlesex Water owns and operates regulated water utility and wastewater systems in New Jersey and Delaware. The Company also operates water and wastewater systems under contract on behalf of municipal and private clients in New Jersey and Delaware. The selection of Oracle applications is an important step in the company's efforts to upgrade current legacy systems to better plan, manage and support processes critical to effective ownership and operation of utilities, contract operations, public private partnerships, and support of water, wastewater and related service customers.
"Implementing high-quality technology that fully supports and integrates our critical business processes is an important factor in our ability to meet increasing customer expectations and to deliver our growth strategy," said Dennis W. Doll, President and Chief Executive Officer. "As our reputation for providing sound technical water and wastewater solutions continues to expand, so too does the need for greater operational efficiencies, greater transparency of data and enhanced customer service. Implementation of this comprehensive suite of Oracle applications is intended to help us further leverage those sound technical solutions and the vast amount of data we capture into profitable business opportunities and even greater service to our present and future customers."
"Middlesex Water Company is an excellent example of a growing utility that understands how technology can further drive business performance while delivering added value to employees, customers and shareholders," said Stefan Peiffer of Oracle Corporation. "We are thrilled and honored to partner with Middlesex Water Company as part of our Emerging Growth Market Strategy and the Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit.
