Navman Wireless OEM Solutions Enhances The Jupiter 30 and 32 GPS Module Lines

GPS Technology Leader’s New Extra Low Power Modules Provide Up To 30% Greater Power Savings

March 07, 2008 --  Foothill Ranch, Calif. –
Navman Wireless OEM Solutions, a leading designer and manufacturer of world-class global positioning system (GPS) technology, announced today that it is among the first to incorporate the latest low-power SiRF technology into its GPS solutions. The Navman Wireless Jupiter 30 xLP and Jupiter 32 xLP extra low power modules feature the new 65nm SiRFstarIII GSC3e(f)/LPx chipset and offer up to 30% power savings over earlier modules. With the introduction of the Jupiter 30 xLP and the 32 xLP, Navman Wireless continues to lead the way in providing OEMs the most advanced GPS solutions for their products.

The Jupiter 30 xLP and Jupiter 32 xLP devices include the new SiRFstarIII GSW 3.2.5 firmware code and unique Navman software features including: Write-to-Flash for easy configuration storage and retrieval; Ephemeris Push for rapid satellite acquisitions and starts; and User Selectable Profiles to maximize operation in a variety of environments. The new firmware code improves time-to-first-fix in urban environments, significantly increases navigation sensitivity and provides greater stability in the navigation solution – including improved response to transient conditions and improved jamming mitigation. Together with the new chipset, the exclusive Navman Wireless features and the new firmware maximize the capabilities of the Jupiter 30 and 32 product families for optimal performance.

“We are proud that Navman Wireless OEM Solutions is the first to incorporate SiRF LPx technology into our products,” said George Arnott, vice president Global OEM Solutions, Navman Wireless. “Manufacturers have come to depend on us to provide the latest and greatest technology in our solutions. Our new Jupiter 30 xLP and 32 xLP products are the latest examples of Navman Wireless leading the way for GPS products.”

The Navman Wireless Jupiter 30 xLP and Jupiter 32 xLP extra low power modules will be available in sample quantities this April and production quantities in June 2008. For additional assistance, please contact Navman Wireless Customer Service at 949-461-7150.
