Learn to Publish KML Services with ArcGIS Server 9.3

Free ESRI Web Seminar Also Covers How to Author and Use the Services

Redlands, California — March 13, 2008 - An upcoming Internet seminar hosted by ESRI will teach geographic information system (GIS) professionals how to author, publish, and use Keyhole Markup Language (KML) services using ArcGIS Server 9.3.

Publishing KML Services with ArcGIS Server 9.3 will air on ESRI’s Training and Education Web site at www.esri.com/lts on March 20, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. (Pacific daylight time).

KML is an XML-based markup language that’s used to manage the display of data on browsers such as Google Earth and ArcGIS Explorer. KML is the specification that describes geographic features and rasters in three dimensions. ArcGIS Server 9.3, which will be released later this year, will provide rich support for KML and enhancements for creating and working with KML services.

This seminar will describe the steps involved to

  • Author GIS content for KML services
  • Publish KML services
  • Use KML services in clients such as ArcGIS Explorer and Google Earth.

A broadband Internet connection and an ESRI Global Account are needed to watch the seminar. Creating a global account is easy and free: visit www.esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address. A few weeks after the live presentation, the seminar will be archived and available on the ESRI Training and Education Web site.
