Linking Catchment and Site Data (ArcUser Online)

An extension developed for ArcGIS Desktop helps the 13 Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs) in the state of New South Wales (NSW) coordinate natural resource management activities within the region. Many CMAs regard river health as a critical issue in supporting and sustaining freshwater ecological processes. Consequently, they believe natural resource management should use a consistent and transparent approach for measuring aquatic biodiversity over a variety of landscapes and spatial scales. The challenge in improving and/or sustaining the condition of rivers is to identify likely stressors and implement appropriate rehabilitation activities.
