FRANKFORT, Ky. & RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3,
2003--IntelData, Inc. and PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTCBB:
NIMA-wide the latest version of the web-enabled Graphical GeoSearch
tool for the Voyager Integrated Library System.
The enhanced version provides users with access to map and chart
data on the NIMA's internal secret network and provides features for
accelerated performance across low bandwidth connections and a
revolutionary user-messaging facility.
The Graphical GeoSearch Application, developed by PlanGraphics and
IntelData, currently provides web-based geographical search methods
for various mapping, charting, geodetics and intelligence-related
products. With version 2.1, developers at PlanGraphics have
incorporated a function that allows users to register to be
automatically advised by email if any of their regions of geographic
interest have been updated or modified in the library database system.
The user can then choose to request a new data set of the updated maps
and charts located in their specific area of interests or to re-query
the database using different metadata parameters.
"The customer feedback we received on the first release was very
positive, and version 2.1 gives users the capability to customize the
application to fit their needs and automatically filter the vast
amounts of information they receive daily to ensure the latest and
most accurate data sets are delivered," said Bonnie Gillespie,
IntelData's Project Manager for NIMA's ILS support. "It's a
tremendous step forward into the geospatial technology age for the
NIMA's Research Division," she added.
"Delivering the latest information to the analysts, operational
personnel and intelligence community is paramount," said PlanGraphics'
President, John Antenucci. "Using innovative information technology
architectures optimized by Oracle-Spatial database (NASDAQ: ORCL) and
Xmarc visualization tools in conjunction with standard desktop tools
makes best use of everybody's time and is very cost effective."
