Luciad introduces LuciadEarth™ at DGI 2009 London

New visualization technology enables instant raster and vector data fusion at any scale

Leuven, Belgium,— January 12, 2009 — Luciad, the leading software provider for distribution and high performance visualization of geospatial information, will be presenting its new LuciadEarth™ technology at the DGI 2009 Conference to be held on January 19-22 in London. LuciadEarth is the most advanced virtual Earth solution available to the world of mission-critical Command and Control.

As more and more high resolution imagery of the Earth surface from satellite and aerial photography is being used in Defense, Home Land Security, Aviation, and other mission-critical applications, there is a clear requirement for high end software tools that support fast, flexible access to and interaction with this and all other available data.

LuciadEarth has been specifically developed as a high performance, tile-based visualization engine for virtually unlimited datasets in Command and Control environments. The technology is set to improve the Commander’s situational awareness to unprecedented levels by its ability to fuse raster and vector data of the entire Earth to any level of resolution. Combined with the high performance and high precision visualization in 2D and 3D of the LuciadMap™ product suite, LuciadEarth will open up a tremendous amount of new possibilities in surveillance, mission execution and real-time targeting.

At DGI 2009 in London, Luciad will be showing the benefits that LuciadEarth brings to the defense and security community on booth #28.

“For Luciad, the DGI conference represents a great opportunity to introduce our latest LuciadEarth technology that will enable our customers to fuse and access all their available world data quickly and efficiently”, said Lode Missiaen, CEO from Luciad. “In addition to having the opportunity to display our products targeting the industry, we are excited to strengthen our relationship with clients and prospects at this event.”

DGI 2009 is Europe’s largest annual gathering dedicated to high-level discussion addressing the major challenges of the defense and government geospatial intelligence community. Bringing together Heads of Geospatial Intelligence, GIS, Remote Sensing, Operations, and Imagery and Analysis, the conference provides a unique forum to discuss and debate the development of geospatial intelligence capabilities across the globe.
