March 18, 2009 -- GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) is pleased to welcome Brian Berdanier GISP as GIS Director to their North Carolina corporate office.
Berdanier brings more than 25 years of GIS experience to the position, including experience in both the public and private sectors. As GIS Director for Ottawa County, Michigan, he developed a GIS department from the ground up. As the Director for REGIS of the Grand Valley Metro Council, he worked with more than 20 local government members to develop a $14.5 million regional GIS consortium.
Building a GIS department from the ground up and spearheading a regional GIS consortium gave Berdanier an understanding of local government necessary to serve GTG’s clients. Although he has had many accomplishments in the private sector, Berdanier’s career began in the private sector, exposing him to most major facets of the industry.
“It’s pretty safe to say that there isn’t much I haven’t done when it comes to GIS,” said Berdanier. “Although I enjoyed working for local government, I’m excited to get back to working with a private firm. I’m very impressed by GTG’s client base. It seems like GTG is doing some very exciting and advanced GIS projects with fantastic clients.”
As GIS Director, Berdanier will lead GTG’s GIS department and work with clients to ensure that GTG delivers timely, high quality products and services.
“GTG is very excited to have Brian on board with the GTG team,” said Curt Hinton, CEO of GTG. “His vast experience and understanding of local government GIS is unmatched. Brian is well-respected in the field, and his passion to serve our clients will ensure that they receive the best experience possible.”
Berdanier says that he looking forward to building strong relationships with GTG’s clients. “As GIS Director, clients will have one point of contact. I can then work to make sure they get the appropriate resources and the right people put on the project so they will have the best project and best experience possible.”
