NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, has revealed the results of a proprietary research study designed to assess the consumer impact of everyday use of navigation devices. GeoEye, Inc., a premier provider of satellite, aerial and geospatial information, announced the appointment of Carl A. Alleyne to the position of vice president of engineering.

Mr. Alleyne has over 25 years of engineering experience and reports directly to the Company's chief operating officer. He is responsible for the overall direction and strategic management of all engineering activities for the Company, which is especially important as GeoEye prepares for its third-generation commercial earth-imaging satellite, GeoEye-2 slated for launch in the 2012 timeframe.

Electric utilities are adopting Intergraph Smart Grid software solutions to maximize system efficiency and performance.
