Nextar Selects Tele Atlas to Deliver Maps, Location Content for Portable Navigation Devices in North America

GENT, Belgium — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 27, 2009 Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions, and consumer electronics developer Nextar announced an agreement under which Tele Atlas supplies digital maps and points of interest (POIs) on the Nextar ME portable navigation device.

The Nextar ME is the company’s flagship entry level navigation system featuring a full range of capabilities at an affordable price. The device sports a 3.5 inch touch screen display, text to speech technology; proprietary magnetic docking station and nearly two million POIs that help make it easier to find the nearest hotel, stores, gas stations or restaurants. The device can also play MP3 files and display JPEG images and is available at and Target retail stores nationwide and online.
