Atlanta GA, September 3, 2009 – OneGIS is pleased to announce that it has released version 1.1 of its mobile field force automation software, OneView Mobile™. This new version of its work-focused, asset-centric mobile GIS application now comes with an Action Framework that allows field personnel to apply specific work-related actions to help them automate their daily work assignments. By using OneView Mobile with 3G cell phone cards or using a WiFi connection, technicians can have up to the minute access not only to their daily service orders, but also to information from their operational systems such as OMS as well as to commercial web services such as those providing real-time weather data.
OneView Mobile can automate and streamline the most common field technicians’ daily tasks including inspections, recording routine maintenance tasks, updating GIS asset information, performing field inventories and recording the completion of service requests. All of this capability is presented within a clutter-free, easy to use map interface. OneView Mobile integrates with most GPS units and can interactively display the worker’s current position. OneView Mobile’s optional routing module can route a full day’s worth of work as well as provide turn-by-turn directions to the next stop.
In its basic configuration, OneView Mobile provides low cost viewing of GIS data and work tasks in the field, the ability to run reports with its embedded Crystal Reports run-time report engine and the ability to interface to most commercial GPS units. The editing module provides the ability to add features and keep GIS data current and accurate with its attribute editor and redlining function. The Action Framework, now included in the editing module, provides the ability to record work order information and completion.
By running off a standard ESRI® MXD file, OneView Mobile can work either in a connected or disconnected manner using standard ESRI replication and synchronization functions thus capitalizing on a company’s ESRI investment, using technology that is already known. No additional server components are required. The software is built as an extension to the ESRI ArcGIS® Engine platform.
