ERDAS 2010 Software Release Featured at DCGS

Norcross, GA —October 28, 2009 —ERDAS announces its participation in the Distributed Common Ground Station (DCGS) Worldwide Conference & Symposium at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, October 27-29, 2009.

ERDAS provides the tactical community with advanced imagery intelligence, mapping and GEOINT processing solutions. At this significant event, ERDAS is showcasing its recently announced 2010 Software Release. The annual release includes new versions of ERDAS IMAGINE, LPS, ERDAS APOLLO and other leading desktop and enterprise products. In addition, ERDAS is introducing several new products, including IMAGINE SAR Interferometry.

ERDAS IMAGINE 2010 is many solutions in one, incorporating image analysis, remote sensing and GIS. Featuring a new ribbon interface, ERDAS IMAGINE makes it easier for users to navigate and customize their workspace. ERDAS IMAGINE also provides enhanced tools for parallel batch processing, spatial modeling, map production, mosaicking and change detection. In addition, ERDAS IMAGINE also incorporates the ERDAS ER Mapper algorithms and implements comprehensive OGC Web Processing Service (WPS), Web Coverage Service (WCS), Web Mapping Service (WMS) and Catalog Services for the Web (CS-W).

With intelligent defaults and optimized processing, IMAGINE SAR Interferometry is fully integrated into ERDAS IMAGINE. IMAGINE SAR Interferometry includes new interpolation techniques that increase the quality and fidelity of radar data. A part of the IMAGINE Radar Mapping Suite, IMAGINE SAR Interferometry now includes IMAGINE Coherence Change Detection and IMAGINE InSAR.

LPS 2010 is a powerful photogrammetry system for a variety of workflows, including defense, remote-area mapping, transportation planning, orthophoto production (for basemap generation) and close-range applications. Available as a technology preview, LPS eATE enables users to generate high-resolution terrain information from stereo imagery like never before, ensuring speed and accuracy, providing an unparalleled environment for processing terrain data.

ERDAS APOLLO 2010 is customizable, equipped to fully understand, competently manage and rapidly serve an organization’s large volumes of geospatial data. ERDAS APOLLO implements an out-of-the box Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), that provides a publish, find and bind workflow for any data type. With a Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), ERDAS APOLLO provides an interactively connected framework to support the management and serving of spatial data, metadata and maps. ERDAS APOLLO contains the most interoperable geoprocessing services in the industry. Users can run an entire model (such as change detection), completely contained within a single Web Processing Service (WPS). The complexity of the algorithm stored under a single process is unique, enabling an end-user to create on-demand line of sight, elevation change, image change detection and more. Spatial models created in ERDAS IMAGINE are published to ERDAS APOLLO and then delivered over the internet.

“Our enhanced portfolio of standards-based service oriented processing solutions is in line with the future of tactical geospatial intelligence, as envisioned by the DCGS community,” said Greg Olson, Director Defense Sales, ERDAS. “The DCGS conference provides an excellent opportunity to interact with government and industry partners in this very important community.”
