Scan/US, Inc releases new 2010/2015 Demographic Data products

February 23, 2010 -- Los Angeles, CA — Three timely geo-demographic data products from Scan/US, Inc are immediately available: the standard Scan/US Subscription with its full built-in 2010/2015 Demographic Update, and two add-on specialty data products comprised of databases and preformatted reports: the 2010/2015 Detailed Demographic Update, and the 010/2015 Household Income by Age of Householder Database.2These databases include households, income, and other population characteristics for 2010 and matching projections for the year 2015.The Scan/US Subscription's Demographic Update, which ships immediately to all Scan/US Subscription customers at no additional cost, is the first available 2010 demographic update.

"Our Scan/US Microgrids are a hyper-local geography based on the latest postal delivery counts," said Kenneth Needham, president of Scan/US, Inc., "The Scan/US MicroGrids make the yearly subscription our most popular product because over the past 20 years they have been so effective. For only $1195 you [our customers] can produce up-to-date site reports and maps anywhere in the United States. Especially with Site Express feature in our subscription, it makes this bargain is very hard for a real estate analyst or developer to pass up. In particular [when you're] looking at areas newly built out since the last Census."

The Scan/US Standard Subscription's 2010-2015 Demographic Update database contains more than 300 variables showing neighborhood income, race and ethnicity, detailed age ranges, household size, and housing vacancy. The number of vehicles available per household is also included. A full range of year-2000 baseline and multi-year trend variables are part of the product, and there are 176 data items pertaining to consumer spending potential The geographic detail is fine-grained down to Scan/US MicroGrids(tm), approximately 1/16th of a square mile.

"Our site analysis customers love the MicroGrids," said Michael Kim, Scan/US Product Manager, "It's the first time many of them can pull a five-minute drivetime or even less, and, with the MicroGrids, see where population and income are concentrated within the drivetime area. Many of our customers produce hundreds of location reports for internal use. They depend on Scan/US for both population and business demographics."

The Scan/US 2010-2015 Detailed Update adds more-detailed information on marital status, educational attainment, and employment status, plus income distributions for family and non-family households. This database, normally purchased as an add-on to the standard Scan/US Subscription, is available at each level of Census geography down to the blockgroup**, as well as MicroGrids for $995.

** (This database is also available at the Census Block level. Please call for pricing.)

The Scan/US 2010-2015 Household Income by age of Householder Database is a demographic data cube, giving 7 age ranges by 12 cuts of income. Whether you want to locate an older wealthy group, a middle aged not so wealthy group, or a group that's young with very limited means – and you want to find exactly where they are, the Household Inome by Age of Head of Household, at $995, is the right database for you. A one-page summary report and two three-page preformatted Excel reports are included with this database.

All three databases are available immediately for use with Scan/US for Windows software.

The Demographic Update includes four types of preformatted Excel Reports: MapFacts Profile reports combining a map with demographic summary, Profile summary reports, benchmark reports comparing variables for two areas side by side, and three-area comparison reports, typically used to compare rings or drivetime areas.

Either database requires the Scan/US Subscription, Release 7.7, with Site Express, which also provides digital streetmaps based on enhanced 2009 TIGER, geomarket analysis, and thematic mapping covering the United States.

Scan/US has also released 2010 ZIP Boundaries, the first of 6 bi-monthly 2010 postal carrier route locations and demographics, and a batch Geocoder update.

Scan/US Inc., headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, develops reasonably-priced business software that answers vital demographic questions for any locale within the United States.
