September 28, 2010 -- LITTLETON NH – Cartographic Associates, Inc. (CAI) has released a web-based version of its Municipal Query Manager called Query Manager OnLine, a management tool that enables municipalities to make full use of GIS, GPS and other data without specialized technical training. First released in 1996, Municipal Query Manager has evolved through nine upgrades, keeping pace with both advanced technology and the expanding requirements of hundreds of municipal clients.
Because Query Manager Online functions within an internet browser, access to GIS data is available from any computer with internet access. Designed as a cloud-based application and powered by Microsoft Silverlight, Query Manager Online offers an intuitive interface and robust features. Using Environmental Systems Research Institute’s ArcGIS Server technology, the graphics are easily managed and quickly reproduced. The major advance represented by Query Manager OnLine is how it facilitates access to data, affording the public and all municipal departments low-cost, individualized maps and reports.
CAI developed Query Manager OnLine in response to user needs and client feedback. Since demands on local government continue to grow while resources diminish, the challenge was to develop a tool that would encourage collaboration, eliminate duplication of effort and save time. Query Manager OnLine not only makes municipal GIS data available from any internet-enabled computer, but also assists users to obtain the information with minimal involvement of municipal personnel. Access a property map, select a parcel and request a list of abutters – the user dictates the parameters of the search. Take it a step further and produce a map, a table of property assessments, and the zoning requirements of the neighborhood. Query again, with a wider scope of parcels and request tax records. This is just a sampling of what Query Manager Online can do.
The implementation of Query Manager OnLine requires a very modest setup cost. There is no software to purchase, so there are no software installation or software maintenance fees. For an overview and more details, visit WWW.CAI-INFO.COM.
