China Information Technology Signs Contracts to Install Police-use GIS in 6 Additional Cities and Provinces in China

SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 2, 2010 — (PRNewswire) — China Information Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNIT), a leading total solutions provider of geographic information systems (GIS), digital public security technology (DPST) and digital hospital information systems (DHIS) in China, today announced it entered into contracts valued at approximately USD 3 million under China's National PGIS Standardization Project, to install its core police-use geographic information systems (PGIS) platform in six additional Chinese cities and provinces, including Datong and Jincheng of Shanxi Province, Guangzhou and Foshan of Guangdong Province, Nanning of Guangxi Province, and Henan Province. The contracts are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011.

The newly-signed contracts are only for the PGIS basic framework constructions which are expected to serve as a platform for the Company to continue providing more comprehensive applications and system upgrades in the future.

China's National PGIS Standardization Project aims to standardize the PGIS applications across many police, firefighting and traffic police divisions in China.  In early 2009, China's Ministry of Public Security selected the Company's proprietary PGIS software as a key contributor for standardizing the PGIS technologies across 660 Chinese cities over the next few years.

"We are pleased that our PGIS platform has been selected for implementation in another 6 regions in China," said Jiang Huai Lin, Chairman and CEO of the Company.  "The new contracts are another key addition to our successful track record in public projects, and represent our core business's strong market penetration capability nationally. Over the years, we have built a solid reputation around our cutting-edge, dependable technologies that meet the high standards required for such mission-critical projects.  Through the roll-out of our PGIS software in these regions, we continue our longer-term strategy to expand across China, while laying the foundation to create new commercial opportunities for our growing portfolio of technology solutions."
