Red Hen Systems Introduces Enhanced Video Mapping Module

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Hen Systems, Inc., today announced the release of its new VMS 300 GPS-video collection module, designed to provide customers with greater location accuracy, faster satellite reacquisition rates, and a more robust field performance.

VMS 300 is the upgraded version replacing VMS 200, originally introduced in 1998. This add-on module works in conjunction with MediaMapper, the industry leading application that organizes photographs, video, audio, and text within a digital map using GPS coordinates. VMS 300, like its predecessor, is the ideal solution for in-vehicle data collection over wide geographic areas and corridors such as roadways, railways, and shorelines. Once processed, users can fully customize and publish interactive maps to leading GIS platforms or the Internet.

A major upgrade to VMS 300 is the B12 GPS engine from Thales Navigation. The B12 provides greater location accuracy as well as support for new international systems that provide real-time differential GPS correction. These systems, known by the acronym SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation Systems), include WAAS in the United States, MSAS in Asia, and EGSNOS in Europe. An additional benefit found in the VMS 300 is lower battery-power consumption.
