August 04, 2011 -- Bay Saint Louis, MS – NVision Solutions, a provider of unique, innovative geospatial solutions for small and large organizations, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a prime contract under the SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) for providing engineering, technical and programmatic support services.
The contract provides an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) vehicle established to facilitate a Navy-wide electronic procurement process that leverages buying power, improves business intelligence, and reduces purchasing time. Under the scope of the contract, NVision Solutions can pursue task orders to support the Navy and other DoD and Federal Agencies.
SeaPort-e supports the Navy Systems Commands including the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC), and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), as well as the United States Marine Corps and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
NVision has existing contracts with the Naval Oceanographic Office and expects to build upon its experience and relationship with the Navy as a result of this prime contract award. Socorro Harvey, NVision CEO, said, “We have had recent opportunities within Seaport-e where our capabilities and expertise have allowed us to support other prime contractors as a subcontractor. Now we will be able to compete as a prime contractor as well.”
The overall objective of SeaPort-e is to provide a standardized means of issuing competitive solicitations among a select group of pre-qualified contractors like NVision Solutions. It also serves as a platform for awarding and managing performance-based task orders.
