Intermap Announces $850,000 in Q4 Telecommunications Sales

DENVER — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 3, 2012Intermap (TSX: IMP), a leading provider of location-based information (LBI) solutions created from its uniform, high-resolution 3D digital models and orthorectified imagery of the Earth’s surface, today announced it has received enterprise contracts totaling US$850,000 from two leading global telecommunications companies.

These global carriers have licensed Intermap’s LinkPro™ 3D business intelligence application and the Company’s highly accurate NEXTMap terrain and surface models for the planning and development of their 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless networks in Europe.

“Across Europe and around the world, smart phone usage is at an all time high with end users demanding faster data transfer rates and more consistent network coverage,” said Todd Oseth, president and CEO of Intermap. “Using Intermap’s LinkPro™ application and our highly accurate NEXTMap terrain and surface data, network planners can quickly build out their network virtually, and immediately identify obstructed links and coverage issues. Results are viewed online and any corrective action can be made instantly without interrupting the carrier’s workflow process and without sending a network operations team into the field.”

The NEXTMap LinkPro™ application was designed to support network expansion projects by delivering precise terrain profiles that include cultural features such as vegetation, buildings and roads. Network planners can immediately view the results online or import the data into their network planning software to create accurate direct path models that quickly verify whether lines of sight between existing and proposed tower locations are unimpeded.
