Online GIS experts gather for the JMap 2004 Conference

Montreal, 2 November 2004 -- The Second JMap Conference is taking place on November 18, 2004 at the Montreal Science Centre. Like last year, many JMap users will meet in the Old Port neighbourhood of Montreal for a series of presentations on the evolution of JMap and its implementation in various and innovative contexts of online GIS.

The KHEOPS Team continues its trailblazing approach of putting geospatial information into the hands of decision makers, and two major developments will be presented during this conference. The new SOLAP extension of JMap, which was developed in partnership with the Centre for Research in Geomatics at Laval University, is the most advanced geospatial online business intelligent solution. The attendants of the conference will see some very powerful applications of that technology. KHEOPS ill also unveil JMap 3.0, the brand new release of JMap, which will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2005.

As a testimony to the power and flexibility of JMap, an exceptional group of presenters will give an overview of five JMap projects that were completed in the past year. Syntell, a leader in OLAP technology based in Quebec City, will present its project of geospatial documents and data management at the Department of National Defence. The City of Montreal will explain how it implemented a fully georeferenced system for monitoring all street signage. Professor Francois Charbonneau, of the University of Montreal, will present the Land Information System of the City of Hanoi, which was jointly developed by the University of Montreal, the City of Montreal and KHEOPS. The Quebec Ministry of Transportation will present its brand new SOLAP-based system for analyzing its road-system data warehouse. Finally, The firm CMTek, from Montreal, will give an overview of Smartrak, the system it developed and deployed for a Paris-based customer, and which measures the overall audience of vehicle-based advertising, using a GPS system and the analytical power of JMap.

The Conference starts at 8:30am on Thursday, Nov. 18. All users and professionals interested in JMap can register online for this exceptional event. Log on to KHEOPS's Web site: www.kheops-tech.com.
