Aliso Viejo, Calif. – November 14, 2004: DCSE Inc, a California developer of collaborative, enterprise-wide GIS and web-based portal solutions, announced today that Yucaipa Valley Water District has adopted Mapplet.NET technology as their Enterprise GIS Portal to manage and monitor critical water resources data in the District. Mapplet.NET will be used to show the GIS and the environmental data currently being collected and managed by the District. The type of data Mapplet.NET will display includes District's facilities in addition to the groundwater related monitoring and production data.
DCSE's flagship product, Mapplet.NET, was the perfect solution to meet YVWD's stringent requirements. With Mapplet.NET, YVWD users get an easy-to use web-based GIS viewer that quickly and efficiently relates tabular and spatial data from many different data sources. With no costs for deployment of proprietary client software, YVWD is able to provide, through Mapplet.NET, access throughout their enterprise, including the ability for users to customize their own views, create high-quality maps and reports, and to view linked documents and other information via a simple web browser.
Joseph Zoba, General Manager for YVWD comments, "DCSE and their Mapplet.NET product was technically superior to any other solution we compared it to. We are excited to be able to use Mapplet.NET in conjunction with our monitoring and data management efforts to make better decisions to manage our precious water resources". Add to this the ease of use and integration with other systems, and the result for YVWD is an economical, highly customizable and easily supported GIS.
Ali Diba, President of DCSE, Inc., remarked, "Mapplet.NET has already been adopted by many water agencies. Our software provides YVWD with an easy to use and economical solution to manage and monitor their water resources data, which helps them to make better management decisions. Mapplet.NET increases productivity and usability of data - and it is very cost-effective. We are truly excited to include YVWD in our family of water agency customers."
DCSE President Ali Diba observes, "We worked closely with YVWD and their consultant to fully understand the requirements of the system to implement the perfect solution for the District. It is gratifying to solve such important and demanding and data management challenges using a combination of water-domain expertise along with current application development tools and database manipulation technology."
