USATODAY.com Launches New Weather Section Featuring Interactive Temperature Forecast Map

MCLEAN, Va., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- USATODAY.com announced today a redesign of its Weather section (weather.usatoday.com) that offers cutting edge, interactive features to visitors in an easy-to-use format. Many of the site's most popular features have been strengthened and new features have been added to meet the needs of USATODAY.com visitors.

  Changes include:

  * Interactive Temperature Forecast Map:  When visitors move the mouse over
    the front page map, current conditions for selected cities instantly pop
    up to the right of the map.  Visitors can also click on a state to be
    directed to an index of all USATODAY.com forecast locations in that
    state.

  * Live nation-wide weather alerts:  Instant alert notifications from the
    U.S. National Weather Service are part of the Interactive Temperature
    Forecast Map.  Visitors can click on "Weather Alert" when it appears in
    the pop up area and go to the full text.

  * Real time Weather Radar:  Live weather radar images are available to
    visitors on every U.S. location forecast page.

  * Global Weather Reports:  Visitors may type in the name of a city and go
    directly to the page for that city; or, they can type in the name of a
    country and go to a list of all forecast locations in that specific
    country.
