October 14, 2005 -- Orlando, Florida – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of Oakland Park, Florida has procured products from GTG’s GIS software suite. The City will be implementing GISmo. This application is a desktop GIS solution that will provide City staff the ability to map and analyze existing GIS data.
GISmo is a desktop application that is targeted to local government and makes ease-of-use a priority. The user-friendly interface allows for dynamic configuration of existing GIS data. GISmo provides the users with the ability to turn their data investment into meaningful information by allowing the users to view, search, query and browse their GIS data in a quick and easy manner.
The City’s implementation of GISmo continues to add to the rapidly expanding number of cities and counties that are utilizing GTG’s GIS solutions as a distributable and unifying technology.
Sonja Jamilla, GTG’s Regional Manager and head of GTG’s Orlando office says “The City views the implementation of GISmo as an integral step towards encouraging the use of GIS. Key departments including Community Development, Engineering, and CRA, will quickly see a return on investment due to the ability to query and map the City’s and County’s GIS data.”
