ESRI Releases Business Analyst Online for Education

On-Demand Data Reports and Maps Available in Two Subscription Formats

January 17, 2006 -- Redlands, California—ESRI today announced that Business Analyst Online for Education is now available to business schools and libraries. Business Analyst Online for Education provides on-demand reports and maps from an easy-to-use Web site. Students and faculty can use Business Analyst Online for Education to gain instant access to current demographic and consumer data reports and maps and interactive features for use in their classroom projects and research. Students will be able to link the importance of geography to such typical business applications as trade area analysis, site evaluation and selection, and customer profiling.

Business Analyst Online for Education is available via two subscription options. The Basic subscription helps students and faculty characterize the people, housing, and retail expenditures in a given area and includes 12 reports and map.

The Extended subscription includes all of the reports and maps in the Basic subscription plus additional 15 reports to provide more detail about income and spending habits of customers in a specified area, thus expanding the topics available for analyses.

"Business Analyst Online combines high-quality data with geographic information system (GIS) software from ESRI. This is a valuable resource for any business school or library that wants to provide instant access to accurate, affordable demographic reports and mapping capabilities," said Jim Herries, Business Analyst Online product manager, ESRI. "Business Analyst Online for Education delivers critical business information to students and faculty without requiring in-depth GIS training."

"With Business Analyst Online for Education, first-time users can analyze data and generate maps within minutes and quickly see the value of taking a geographic approach to market analysis," said Angela Lee, libraries/museums marketing manager, ESRI. "As students and faculty ask more complex questions about data and maps, additional GIS software is available to them through our campus site license programs."
