Cincinnati Area Geographic Information Systems Selects Sanborn To Provide High Resolution Imagery

Colorado Springs, Colo., April 24, 2006-John Copple, CEO of Sanborn, a geospatial industry leader, announced today the company has been selected by the Cincinnati Area Geographic Information Systems (CAGIS) consortium to perform base map updates and acquire high resolution digital orthophotography for 550 squares miles of Hamilton County, Ohio and surrounding areas.

The CAGIS consortium has determined that the best interest of the organization can be met by acquiring digital orthophotography for the whole of Hamilton County. Core deliverables for this project include 6 inch resolution digital color orthophotography, two foot contours, planimetric updates and a comprehensive digital terrain model.

In addition to orthophotography and terrain modeling, Sanborn will also perform planimetric and topographic updates for paved areas, building outlines, bridges, and spot elevations.

Sanborn's geospatial products and services will support the consortiums goal to coordinate behavior for city planning, transportation, public works and regional planning programs. The mission of the CAGIS is to create a computerized information sharing system that enables the critical transformation of government and utility service management and delivery.

Barbara Quinn, CAGIS administrator comments, "We are committed to continuous improvement, offering our constituents new, intelligent, and cost effective tools to make informed decisions. Sanborn deliverables will support our goals and allow our community to work within a standardized geographic environment."

Once the project is complete CAGIS will have a current base map with up-to-date geographic information system layers to develop and support fundamental operational and business applications and further technical resources for regional issues such as transportation, public works and land development.
