VUEWorks latest release extends GIS beyond the desktop

VUEWorks version 2.3 combines the strength of browser-based asset management with the power of traditional GIS resulting in an intuitive interface to share and manage your map based data.

Concord, NH May 31 2006 - VUEWorks’ strong Asset Management and Computerized Maintenance Management features are now complemented by enhancements to the VUEWorks Core module. With the latest enhancements VUEWorks transforms ESRI’s ArcIMS into a powerful data management tool within a geodatabase work flow. All VUEWorks’ features are available to users through an intuitive browser based interface, allowing any team member the ability to quickly interact with their GIS data. With the ability to access and edit GIS data the extended team becomes a valuable tool to help keep data accurate and up-to-date.

“Browser based editing tools are where users will see a dramatic improvement over traditional approaches” says Dave Paine President and CTO of VUEWorks. VUEWorks is designed to feel like a desktop application while operating completely within a browser without requiring end users to install any software. “The ability to make global edits along with feature editing through a browser is a big step towards making GIS accessible to a more diverse team.”

Other functions available in VUEWorks Core include, document upload and linking, external data linking, a robust report creator, a new abutters list tool, a dynamic measure tool, and an enhanced buffer tool.

With the additional editing and data tools available in the new release, VUEWorks is an ideal system for managing map based infrastructure data. Whether you already have a comprehensive GIS or are just beginning the process of developing one, VUEWorks Core is an ideal tool to build, maintain, and share GIS data while providing a platform for CMMS and Asset Management modules.
