The City of Bend, Oregon Selects Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) to Implement GIS Software Solutions

July 28, 2006 -- Portland, Oregon – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of Bend, Oregon has procured several GIS software solutions from GTG’s LG GIS software suite. The City will be implementing LGviewer Work Request Module, LGweb, LGaddress and LGviewer upgrade to Community Connect. These applications will serve to expand the City’s existing GTG software platform, which already includes LGavl, LGPublicWeb, and GeoManager from GTG’s LG product line.

The City’s objective is to utilize these applications to integrate with GIS, thereby providing an integrated platform that will enable City personnel to leverage existing land-based data and applications. The combined use of these applications offers a comprehensive expansion of the City’s information technology infrastructure.
David Kuhn, GTG’s Western Regional Manager and head of GTG’s Portland office stated that, “Bend continues to be a leader in the integration and utilization of geographic information to improve the management of City assets and services.” Acquiring LG Community Connect applications will enhance the City’s ability to provide services in a timelier manner. “Bend is realizing the true power of GIS as a workflow tool that can be used to update information through out the enterprise for better decision support,” concluded Kuhn.

LG Viewer Work Request Module enables users to generate and query work requests as well as view job orders directly from a GIS interface. Users can also place and locate work orders/task orders through a GIS interface. LGWeb is a dynamic Active X Intranet application that distributes GIS data to users in an easy-to-use, yet powerful web interface. This web interface gives the users the ability to quickly query both spatial (map) and attribute data with a few simple clicks. LGaddress allows users to maintain street centerlines and address points via an intuitive ArcEngine based GIS application.

GTG provides several LG products that provide a GIS interface for many land and public safety modules. The City’s implementation of these LG applications continues to add to the rapidly expanding number of cities and counties that are utilizing LG GIS as a distributable and unifying technology.
