Chariton Valley Telephone Signs Contract with CT&T, Inc.
North Little Rock, Arkansas August 15, 2006 – Chariton Valley Telephone Company headquartered in Macon, Missouri has signed a contract with CT&T, Inc. for data conversion services and an enhanced AM/FM/GIS engineering and mapping system from Byers Engineering Company. Chariton Valley chose to use the Byers Engineering Work Order System (EWO) and the Byers Map Viewer software to automate their engineering records that previously resided on paper based staking sheets. CT&T is a “Value Added Reseller” (VAR) of Byers and is providing the professional data services to load the outside plant staking sheets into the EWO system.
Tim Finefield, Operations Manager at CT&T is the project manager for all aspects of Chariton Valley's AM/FM/GIS project including software installation and administration, records conversion, and software training for the end users. "The ease of use of the EWO and Map Viewer software along with its capabilities to provide up-to-date outside plant records to many departments within Chariton Valley provides a major advantage over the other software products that were evaluated," comments Finefield. Jerry Grauel, Manager of Engineering, will oversee the project for Chariton Valley.
The first of several key benefits that Chariton Valley will achieve as part of this installation is the ability to electronically engineer and maintain all of their outside plant facility data. EWO is being utilized within Chariton Valley’s engineering group for work order creation and updating the master model. Furthermore, Map Viewer is being used to provide access by all other departments for viewing, querying, redlining, and printing OSP records. The new system improves access to the maps by users in the office and in the field. This solution offers Chariton Valley a robust AM/FM/GIS system to maintain its ongoing engineering and records operations in a seamless mapping environment.
