Gartrell Group and Integeo Map the Future of Geospatial Business Intelligence

September 08, 2006 -- Sydney, Australia, and Portland, Oregon, September 8, 2006: Integeo, the leader in geospatial business intelligence, and the Gartrell Group, a pre-eminent geographic information systems (GIS) services provider, today announced a partnership that will enable enterprises to bridge the gap between business intelligence and mapping systems.

Integeo’s Map Intelligence enables fast generation of information-rich, interactive mapping applications for all levels of an organization without any programming required. The Gartrell Group will offer the product as an application service, reducing capital costs and extending the benefits of dynamic geospatial business intelligence to a wide range of customers.

Gartrell Group managing director Bryce Gartrell said that Map Intelligence leverages an organization’s BI investment and answers strong demand for mapping applications.

“I enjoy watching our customers when they begin to understand the power Map Intelligence gives them,” Mr Gartrell said. “Suddenly, without any need to know how to operate a GIS or without specialized programming skills, they can click on a dynamic map to find new competitive advantages or where there are vulnerabilities in their business.

“They can incorporate different demographic statistics into the visualization in real time to get a living landscape of existing and potential customers. They can see how their strategies would impact on those people in different scenarios, and how that presents opportunities to their business or operation.”

The Integeo-Gartrell partnership began with a chance meeting while Gartrell was involved in providing mapping services to the City of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Map Intelligence was fresh from winning Australia’s leading innovation award for helping cut the break-and-enter crime rate in the country’s northern capital, Darwin, by 50 percent.

Lance Setliff, Integeo’s Texas-based Channel Manager, said that the synergies were obvious.

“Integeo has a technology that allows Gartrell to take mapping applications to a whole range of new users who previously were bamboozled by GIS,” Mr Setliff said.

“Gartrell understands the power of putting locational analysis on the desktop. They have extensive experience with the major GIS vendors. This was an obvious match.”

Gartrell provides hosted GIS application services and implementation to US regional, state, and federal government agencies in the US, and is expanding rapidly into the private sector.

“Our partnership with Integeo has grown in response to demand from our customers for more access to location-based analysis,” Mr Gartrell said. “It’s been exciting because we are able to break out of some categories where GIS has been sequestered in the past and move into new areas and markets.”
