February 2, 2007 -- Redlands, California—ESRI announces that GIS & RS Consulting Center GeoGraphic, a longtime subdistributor in the Republic of Georgia for DATA+, is now a full distributor to further enable the expansion of the geographic information system (GIS) market in the country.
As a DATA+ subdistributor for nearly 10 years, GeoGraphic has established a significant client base that includes a number of federal government ministries, local municipalities, and international agencies. In addition, GeoGraphic has developed a number of applications for health care, agriculture, public transportation, and municipal services. The company is also well known for its certified GIS training courses.
According to George Gotsirdize, general manager of GeoGraphic, "We have had very good success in implementing GIS systems in both federal and local government sites here in Georgia. As the market matures and we can broadly demonstrate the benefits of GIS, we hope to expand our markets into real estate, urban development, and telecommunications, among other potential commercial users."
"GeoGraphic has done significant work in expanding the use of GIS in Georgia during the past several years. We look forward to its continued growth, which will be aided by the support it will receive from ESRI as a distributor of our software," concludes Jack Dangermond, ESRI president.
Established in 1998, GeoGraphic has made major contributions to the development and utilization of modern technologies for spatial information management in Georgia.
