MapMart's web site (www.MapMart.com) contains terabytes of digital data including, but not limited to, vector data, aerial imagery, satellite imagery, and digital elevation models. Their "one-stop" business model allows customers to order data by drawing a box around their area of interest on an online map. The data is then delivered electronically per the customer's unique delivery specifications, usually in a matter of minutes.
"By partnering with Intermap, our customers can now quickly procure high-quality elevation data collected as part of Intermap's ongoing NEXTMap(R) program. This data, with a five-meter posting and vertical accuracy at one meter or better, is ideally suited for advanced GIS applications that cut across a wide variety of disciplines," said Michael Platt, president of IntraSearch, Inc./MapMart. "Intermap is leading the way by collecting highly accurate entire-county datasets. We are proud to be offering these high resolution data sets as an option to our current customers."
The Intermap data available on the MapMart site includes Digital Elevation Models, Digital Surface Models, and Orthorectified Radar Imagery. Coverage includes all of Great Britain, over 500 counties of the United States, and will soon feature a complete, seamless dataset of Germany. The rest of the United States and most of Europe will be added to the web site as it becomes available.
"We are excited to be working with MapMart to offer their customers access to the benefits of our highly accurate elevation data," stated Kevin Thomas, Intermap's vice president of marketing. "The partnership of our two companies will enable a whole new set of customers who have historically used outdated geospatial data to now have access to affordable and accurate geospatial data they otherwise would not have known exists."
