MapMart is a professional services firm specializing in geographic information systems (GIS) solutions for both public and private sector clients. Under terms of the agreement, MapMart can offer its business customers in architecture and engineering, insurance, financial services, oil and gas, legal services, and commercial real estate, the ability to purchase Pictometry's oblique aerial images using Pictometry's Server-to-Server solution.
MapMart.com is an e-commerce site that enables project managers to select from a wide range of image data providers whose images can be purchased and used in business reports, to create 3D renderings of buildings, or as supporting data on new projects. The Pictometry offering from MapMart will enable MapMart's online business customers to easily navigate on the e-commerce site to view and acquire Pictometry imagery of a desired location. Once an address is entered, users will see five recent, high-resolution, oblique and ortho views (north, south, east, west, and orthophoto) centered on the selected address point for immediate purchase selection. Multiple image discounts are available to the users and then delivered in JPEG file format.
"Pictometry is one of our newest and most exciting aerial imagery product offerings. There are many applications for oblique aerial imagery and our customers will appreciate the unique perspective this high resolution imagery provides," said MapMart Director of Sales Eric Woody.
Pictometry's patented aerial oblique imaging technology captures and catalogues image libraries of entire counties and states. The company has imaged nearly 60% of where the U.S. population resides and anticipates having 80% of the developed U.S. imaged by the end of 2007. Pictometry's Business-to-Business Group provides easy-to-use geospatial solutions that enable commercial users to quickly and affordably access oblique (3D-like) aerial photos of every square foot in a town, city, county, or state, including every building, highway, or other feature.
"MapMart now provides businesses with a unique opportunity to access our detailed, oblique image libraries and an affordable way to obtain these high-resolution images to support their business needs. We are very pleased to be offering this solution to MapMart customers," said Pictometry Director of Business-to-Business Development Jim Murray.
